Hello. When my daughter was newborn Newborn jaundice , she had the same thing. My Dr told me to use the Head & Shoulders in the dark blue bottle (seborrheic dermatitis shampoo). It worked great. I only needed to use it for 2-3 days and it cleared right up! Hope this helps!

I used baby oil and combed it out a wee while later and that seemed to do the trick I just kept putting baby oil in my babies hair until it cleared up probably.

Try shampooing more frequently and gently brushing your baby's scalp with a soft brush or a terrycloth towel. For stubborn cases, some parents find an oil remedy helpful. (The oil helps to loosen dry flakes.) If you want to give it a try, rub just a small amount of a pure, natural oil — such as almond or olive oil — on your baby's scalp and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Then gently comb out the flakes with a fine-toothed comb or brush them out with a soft brush. Be sure to follow up by washing your baby's scalp with a gentle baby shampoo — the last thing you want to do is leave oil on his head, which could clog the pores and cause the flakes to stick. You might try leaving the shampoo on for a few minutes before rinsing, to help cut the oil.

A great way to treat baby dandruff, which worked for all three of my children, is to begin by using some baby oil in your newborn baby's hair and letting in soak in for up to fifteen minutes. After the fifteen minutes use a fine toothed baby comb and slowly comb up the flakes that are loose very carefully. Always be gentle with a baby's scalp especially with their soft spots. Next, pour a small amount of Johnson's baby shampoo and gently lather the shampoo in your newborn baby's hair. Before rinsing out your newborn baby's hair, use a baby brush and brush your baby's hair gently in circular motions. Rinse your newborn baby's hair thoroughly with warm water. Repeat each day until your baby's dandruff has subsided. Another great product you can try is Tea Tree and Lavender shampoo made by California Baby.
